Gotta have me some Southern Comfort

Let the adventure begin.
My sweet GA. peach CC picked me up at the Atlanta airport.
She took me to my favourite southern restaurant, Cracker Barrel.
I had to buy a couple jars of Fried Apples.
I cook them up with pork tenderloin
(when I cook : )

The next day CC and I went Thrift shopping.
It is our favourite thing to do together. I wanted this
chair sooo badly, but it wouldn't fit in my luggage.

Then my other sweet southern friend Teresa, we call her Daisy Duke, picked me up
in her (what I call) VINTAGE JEEP. NO DOORS, NO WINDOWS, NO PROBLEM....
- except when Claudie wears a dress! NEVER wear a dress in a jeep with no doors. OMG.
Here's the road, yes the road, as we drive 70 mph. The truck drivers loved us.
TOOT TOOT.

She makes draperies, burlap EVERYTHING, clothes, and she can cook!!!

Check her out PLEASE
Tell her I said, "Hey Daisy".

Teresa drove me to Jeanne and Bill's home in the N.C. mountains.
This is my 3rd time staying in their cabin. This was my view every single morning.
Thank you sweet friends. I love you like family.
My little buddy Cheri' was my partner in crime while Jeanne and Bill were active doing their Senior Olympics, yes you heard me... OLYMPICS.
Those two can run circles around me.

Is this CUTE or WHAT?? Cheri's little tootsies
are right there with us.

Teresa's legs are as long as...

Miss Cheri's legs, lol
Gotta love it.

Then Claudie spotted RED POPPIES all over the side of the hwy.
STOP THE CAR JEANNE!!!
Let's goooo.

We had so much fun, but then Teresa had to head back home to her children.
She had weddings to take care of.

See you soon Daisy. We LOVE you.

Jeanne and I headed to Charleston the next day.
We passed through Asheville where we had our girlfriend reunion last Oct.

You'll have to come back later, and I'll continue my adventure.
Right now I have to go and watch the sunset.

Back with more beauty than ever, if that's possible.

Your sunsets are some of the most spectacular I have ever seen. I would have a hard time tearing myself away from the view every evening.
It is fun to see you post about this trip(even though I followed you through it on facebook)
I never get tired of hearing and seeing it.
I think the name Daisy Duke totally fits her.
CC holding that book "P is for Peach" is perfect.
Jeanne always looks beautiful...she is a rocking senior.
I am kinda senior'esk too I guess.
Sheeeesh.
love ya my BGF

Oh to see you and CC together my dear, it makes my heart soar and then drop hard. For I know that I may never meet you all, but knowing YOU ALL is enough for me. Your sass, spirit and love of life is what I am and always will be.

YOU ALL LOOK GREAT!!! AND.....I once wore a skirt at an amusement park. I went on a 100 foot high ride that drops you down in a basket. NEEDLESS TO SAY, it was an AMUSEMENT PARK that day for everyone below me!!!!!!! Thus endeth the lesson: NO SKIRTS ON OUTTINGS!

LOVE YA, Anita

Oh Claudie,
God has blessed you with some beautiful friendships! What fun you all have together! I enjoyed seeing and hearing about your trip.

We have moved into our rental house where we will be til our home is built. All I've done for a while is pack, clean, and unpack, so visitng here this morning has been a delight!

I am sitting here at the kitchen table with my laptop, with paper towels stuffed down my pajama top after squirting myself with cold water from the nozzle at the sink that I've discovered doesn't turn off the instant you let go of the handle. But I had to finish reading your blog post before I go change! LOL!!! Sometimes I feel like I'm starring in a Lucy and Ethel episode....
Fortunately there's no one here this morning to video this.

xoxo

Claudie, This is a darling post. I am sorry I missed it. So busy as always and having a great vacation. When we were in Kansas my computer would not connect to my blogging friends. Now we are in Houston the connection is great but my email isn't working. Such is life. However, I am so glad to be visiting you again. Your posts are just the best. I really loved it all. We had fun in spite of some things bugging us. HA!
I love you to pieces,
Jeanne xoxoxo

So glad you're having such a good time... Good to know about Charleston. I've always wanted to go there, but Savannah's been on the top of my list for years. I promised my mom, before she passed away, that I'd make it.......some.day.

You are a character! I am catching up on your posts and watching the Olympics opening ceremonies but I find it just a tad too stuffy for me! You have the greatest group of girlfriends! I love all your stories Claudie!
