Hanging on for dear life

Please walk with me
This is the HOSPICE
where my mom has been for
for one week now.
Suite 3
Royal Canadian Legion
In Honour of all Veterans
Interesting that they put her in this room since my dad was a war vet
that lost both legs during WWII.
This is the beautiful dining room.
The big kitchen where the volunteers prepare the meals for patients and for family.

The special QUILT that mom will have over her body
when she leaves HOSPICE.
They light a candle for 24 hrs.
One of many rooms to make you feel comfortable.

Beautiful stained glass wall in the formal living room.
A stuffed dog in front of the fire place : )
Volunteers make tea cosies and slippers to raise money for HOSPICE
I bought that pretty one on the tea pot and some slippers.
Each Saturday someone comes and plays the piano.
The hall I've been walking.
The WONDERFUL HOSPICE nursing staff's office is on the right.

I came home yesterday for a little TLC.
Sister Lolotte was with us saying prayers. I was so thankful.
Your phone calls and messages have been so
therapeutic for this girl.
I'm on my way back this morning.

As of today mom has not had any food or water for
10 days. Her kidneys have shut down.
Her is now slowing down.
Her breathing is shallow.
TIME, just TIME.

So so sorry to read this post. Of course it made me cry and made me think of my Mom. She didn't eat or drink anything for about 7 days and her kidneys shut down also. Sending you a hug and strength - I know this is not an easy time. xoxo

Just as you have discribed, the hospice is a very comfy place. Families need
a peaceful feeling on this part of your journey. It brought tears to my eyes when I read that on Saturdays someone comes plays the piano -- what a gift for you all. Music does sooth the soul.

I love you.

Oh, Claudie,
I am crying now because my mom passed away due to her kidneys. She lived a long life, and her kids were all around in her sweet house that we grew up in. I know what you're going through, love, and please give your mom and hug for me when you see her.

Thinking of you. My Mom lasted 7 days at the stage your Mom is now. I know how heart wrenching these past 10 days have been. Don't forget to take care of yourself - easily done.

Hugs and prayers

Precious Sweetie...Thanks for sharing this special home that has been gracious to your Momma, and your family. It's places like this that make times like this bearable and even make the time you spend together in your final days with her comforting and peaceful. My prayer is that she meets Jesus soon! Love you friend...xoxo To the Moon & Back.

Claudie, when I saw the picture of your Mom's hands I gasped, it looks like MY Mom's hands near the end. It won't be long now. Be still and hold her hand. Tears are running down my face for you. XO, Pinky
