Gone from our arms

Mom left us at 12:15 AM today Oct. 7th, 2011

We were holding her hands.

The moon was beautiful as we were driving home.
I knew she was in heaven.

She bought me this painting 20 yrs. ago when Riley was born.
She said it looked like me.
Now they say I look like her, my mom.
This was on the wall in

I was playing her favourite music, Nat King Cole. I hope she heard it. They say they do, but I'm not sure. Now both my mom and dad are gone.
I hope they are having their first real dance. You see my dad didn't have any legs, now he does, so now they dance.

Cheers mom. 92 years young.
May you dance, sing, play cards, and be with all the people you love from up above.

I will always ♥ you.

Claudie, I just happend to come back on here, and I saw this! Oh, sweetie, I am SO sorry. My heart aches for you, mydear friend. Your mother was a beautiful lady, and I do see so much of her in you. She certainly brought up a daughter who is beautiful inside and out, one who is all heart, and that is a HUGE accomplishment.

My parents are both gone, too, and I'd like to think they are with yours visiting together. And yes, I hope she is dancing with your dad and enjoying herself.

I'm sending all my love across the miles to Canada. I love you, Claudie, and I would give anything if I could be there to give you a big hug. Just know that I am hugging you tight in my heart.

In deepest sympathy,

the last one...your mom, beautiful and sleeping peacefully (who knows what magical dreams are going on in her head)
that is how she is now
restored to her WHOLE self
dancing with your dad
and IF she is like MY mom....cheating at cards.

they leave us, but not for long, they are FAR, but NOT SO FAR

you know I love ya

Claudie dear, this is a beautiful post and it brought all the memories of my mom passing. I had a good cry and know that this place in heaven for our moms is where they belong. Pain and suffering is done. The young photo of your mom does remind me of you. She was beautiful. Your mom and dad look so happy in that photo.

Don't look back Claudie, unless you are remembering a happy moment with your mom. She would want your thoughts and memories to be happy ones.

You know I am so sad for you right now but time heals all things.

I love you dearly,

Love the last photo...did she love to sleep late like you? :)

I so glad there was such a peaceful, calm ending to such a long beautiful life - a life that left wonderful memories for her family.

I love you and will hug you soooon!

This day will change you but for the better. Our moms live in our hearts when they leave this earth and are there every minute of the day. I know you will feel her there just when you need her most. I'm sorry for your loss, Claudette and I'll be thinking of you in the days ahead. Love, Deb

I think that anyone that has suffered a loss of a Mom is feeling your pain today, reliving their own sad moments. I remember looking up at the clear sky that night after my Mom left and seeing the brightest star in the sky over my house. In May I always look for that star to be in the same place. I hope you are finding comfort with your family and taking some time now to slow down and get some much needed rest. Take care Claudie. XOXO

Claudie, What a wonderful and beautiful post. . . I know your mom must be so happy with you over this!! What a great moment for her to finally end her journey on this earth and be with the Lord and your dad all of her other family members and friends in heaven.

The night my mom died, and I was driving home from the hospital, I saw a shooting of her favorite things to see. I felt she was home, too....just like you did when looking at the moon.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time.

L, Dana

I am so sorry for your loss and your pain. This quote helped me when I lost my Mom last October 23rd - "I carry your heart - I carry it in mine".
I loved what you said about your Mom and Dad dancing together. I would bet they are!

Oui, j'ai besoin de changer le nom de mon site Web, il devrait traduire Au Coeur de lui Tous !

My heart was sad...but I have such great memories! My first sleep over was at your house, my first time in a pool...with your dad and I was sooo scared! My first time having Kraft Dinner that you and Ray made for me! Watching tv with your dad and trying really hard to get into that front living room...but always getting caught! lol She lived a good be in your 90's and still living on her own is amazing. I think she is dancing up a storm with your dad too! :) But with every passing a little more of our childhood goes with them....til we meet again! Although we wish a peaceful quick departure it still hurts to have them gone. But the memories keep them alive and a smile on our faces. Take care, have a peaceful Thanksgiving xoxoxo
PS....and I am thankful for all those Smartie Cake you made us too! xo

Hi Claudie *tight hugs*
I am listening to the lovely songs on your blog....and I can truly feel how blessed you and your mom were to have each other. I feel very badly for you and I can only imagine the pain felt by you and your family. You are right your mom and dad have probably had their first dance together...what a beautiful and touching thought Claudie....

May her beauty and her strength and the love you shared give you the strength through this especially difficult time...

Keep your family close my friend...

I loved your beautiful post today. I'm so sorry about your Mother, but she will live in your heart every day. I no longer have my mom or dad either. Nat King Cole was one of my dad's favorites, and he is one of my favs too. I loved the saying that was on the wall. One thing is for sure... Your mom and dad would be happy because they raised such a beautiful daughter. My love is with you, my friend, during this time.

Dear Claudie,
I am so very sorry for your loss. The tribute you made for your beautiful mom is incredibly lovely and so very heartfelt. Your mama was so beautiful and reminds me very much of my beloved Grandmother who passed away several years ago at age 93.

As sad as it was, it sounds like it was quite magical. Watch for all the signs Sweetie, they will be there. Butterflies, hummingbirds, pretty clouds... it's all your mother and you'll be connected to her through nature and other familiar things. She'll always be there with you.

Lots of love,

Oh Claudie, I am praying that God will comfort you and give you peace in the days and weeks to come. I said goodbye to both of my parents in 2004...very difficult.

How blessed you were to have this special woman in your life for so long. May God bathe you in His peace, and hold you tight in His mighty arms.

Love you and am praying for you and yours,

Claudie, this tribute to your sweet mother is magnificent. Our mothers hold very special places in our hearts. I know you have many sweet and treasured memories that are forever.

My father died on the Fourth of July, and we could see the celebratory fireworks out his hospital window. I always say that he would have liked "going out with a bang".

I am holding you close in my heart and prayers. I can imagine your father's joy when he saw her coming.♥♥♥

Sweet Claudie, this tribute to your Mom is so precious... Isn't it amazing or totally a GODincident that the same painting she'd given you decades earlier would be at the Hospice center? I think that was God's way of letting you know that she knew you were there.

You were given time with her seeing her at peace before she left this earth...and now she dances with your Dad, just like you said. I believe that too!

I love you sweetheart of a friend!
