Moments in time

Ottawa, Ontario
The adventure continues
with my
GIRLS.

I live in the Nation's Capital, kinda like Washington, D.C. is to the United States.
Parliament Hill, House of Commons,
the Prime Minister of Canada.
This is where it all happens.
But most important, this is where
SISTER LOLOTTE
lives.
She lives on Maple Lane,
very close to the Prime Minister's residence.
Nice neighbourhood Sista.

Jeanne giving Sister a hug and a book, all about a MONK. The girls all signed it for Sister.
We also gave her some fudge.
She LOVES chocolates.
She remembered ALL their names.
She would say Jeanne, from N.C., CC from GA. Julie from Van...
Look at that face. She's such a joy.
Here she is with CC.

The girls couldn't wait to meet her. Isn't that nice?
Miss Bee with Sister.
She's so full of wisdom and stories.
I could listen and talk to her all day long.
Before leaving, she blessed my girls with
 holy water.
While we were waiting for sister, we went to the chapel.
This is the confessional.
Miss Bee was telling me all her little secrets ; )
Sitting outside on the property.
It was a B*E*A*U*T*I*F*U*L day.
She was "allowed" to buy some new "shoes".
Open toe ones to boot!!
Can you imagine?
We don't think twice about buying new shoes.
She had to wait months for her shoes.
I received this letter in the mail a few days after my girls left.  Sister is FRENCH Canadian, but speaks perfect English.
Sister wanted me to e-mail the girls their special notes, but I actually put them in an envelope and mailed them off. It wouldn't have been the same if I would have e-mailed them.

 Did I say
"I LOVE THIS SISTER"?
XOXO

Ok, let's head back to the cottage for our
outdoor movie night.
Randy made us a FABULOUS dinner,
then when the sun was setting...
 We watched this beauty

in...
Randy chose the movie.
One of his favourites.
The girls LOVED it.
Thank you Randy for all your hard work.

 HI WENDY. Are you comfy?
Smile, you're on candid camera girls.
Even Toby is ready for the show.
Here's where I had a BIRD
I bought these cute popcorn boxes, but forgot the popcorn.
The girls were so sweet. They pretended to enjoy every single morsel for the camera.
Thanks girlfriends.
Here's a little sneak peak.
I feel like they are still around me.

Good morning Claudie, I'm showered and dressed for the gator game. We leave in about an hour. A long day today. I will love seeing Diana at the game. Christina is always a sweetie and my grands are getting to be such big boys. Caleb played Bach and several other pieces on the piano last night. He is only 14 and his hands are fluid on the piano. We are so proud of him. Cody, is 16 and he is playing his electric guitar in a band at his church. He is also in the marching band in HS. He plays the Clarinet.
It is so much fun to hear the boys play their music. This is the biggest reason for me to come to Florida. The game is a small part of this trip for me.

Now, your post just gave me so much pleasure this morning. Sister is the sweetest and most darling woman ever. She is ageless and a wonder to talk to. This day is one of my sweetest memories. Her note is a treasure and I don't remember thanking you for sending it to me. I put it in my box of treasures.I hope the book was a good read.

The movie and Randy's food was awesome. Our time together with our sista's was a memory for life. I treasure each and every moment we were together. The popcorn was a very HA! moment. The movie was the best. I too admire Audrey Hepburn. She was a real star with real feelings about life.

Love you, Jeanne xoxoxo

Claudie,
I just loved this post. You are so blessed to have her in your life. I have an aunt who I adore, and she is really with it in her
80's, and I could talk with her all day too. You know, my mom had French Canadian in her also. The movie night looks like so much fun. Love the popcorn container. I've seen those around. I'm so glad that you have such a special friend. I surely cherish the elderly.

What a sweet post, Claudie! And how wonderful that they all got to meet Sister Lalotte and vice versa. One day, I would love to meet her, too. I feel as if I know her through all of your sweet posts about her. Mr. M. and I are going to a celebratory mass in honor of my beloved Sister Renee's 60th year of being a nun. That happens in October.

This is such a precious post, with your heart shining through in every word. And speaking of hearts, I dropped by to let you know how much I love and appreciate you and your kind words you left on my last post. I'm starting to blog a little, but there is still lots going on here that keeps me away from my keyboard. But I wouldn't have missed this for anything.

Love you to the moon and back, and some day I hope to come to Canada. I'm so sorry I had to miss this.

Loving you...

XO,

Sheila

I think you are going to meet my friend Francie at that fun weekend. Please say hi and give her a hug for me. xoxoxoxoxo

Hi Claudie,
I'm so sorry to hear about your mother and her fall. (92! Wow!)

I will say a prayer for her. Today would have been my mothers 92nd birthday! She died 17 years ago. Just think of all the changes that have occured in your mothers long life! Amazing.

What a blessing you must be to her.

How lucky Soeur Lisotte is to have you in her life; full of love. Love Ottawa, but i haven't been there in quite a while; I find the drive kind of long. Give your mom an extra hug.
We have family there and it is one of may favourite places.
Take good care.

Man, I'm a cry baby tonight catching up on all your posts. I'd not been online for a week or more. :(

Claudie - how I MISS you! How I really feel at this moment reviewing each pic of this post and what you wrote, what sister wrote...it's like we have been family all our lives. My heart is breaking that we don't live closer so I can be there more for you right now when you need me (us) the most..your friends who care so much about you.

The movie you shared of us on Movie night made me cry even harder. It was like Christmas wasn't it? We waited so long for the time to be together ....and within the blink of an eye we were back home. :*(

Thanks for capturing this time with Sister L so sweetly ~ I've not told anyone else this yet because I've still not posted my Canadian venture yet...I'm too much of a perfectionist darn it. This visit to Sister's made #1. It truly did...

This time we have together here on earth is such a small nugget compared to eternity. I pray we are friends for eternity Claudie.... I love you! :*( more tears.... :*(
