Poor poor mom

This is where I've been.
Poor poor mom.
She fell again.
Alzheimer's .
Coming on fast : (
She didn't break any bones this time thank God.
But her hip operation shows that it never healed properly.
Her little arm is all bandaged up.
There's no skin left on her
 bones.
We have noticed that she's in her own little world,
and sometimes that world is
VIOLENT.
She's very agitated, confused, lost.
We gave up her apt. yesterday.
She will not be returning.
Now we wait, and wait, and wait.
Long term care is her future.
No rehabilitating.
So, so sad.
Randy was a BIG help yesterday.
He talked "sense" with the doctors and nurses.
Of course my sister is taking on the task of being with mom day in and day out.
She's unbelievable.
Happier times with Brittany. Easter 2010
 With Riley
With Sister Lolotte and mom's sis Jeannine.
The 3 of us on a cruise in 1987.
My mom and her sister Madelaine.
1949
Two peas in a pod right now.

My Aunty Claire and Aunty Jeannine.
Mom's 2 remaining sister's.
She also has 1 brother, Uncle Joe.
THEM.
My brother-in-law Bill.
He would move the EARTH for mom.
Young, healthy and beautiful.
This is my mother's mom, Grandma Damboise.
She left us in her 90's with Alzheimer's.
This is mom's sister Madelaine again.
Taken a few yrs. ago now.
She is also in her own little world.
She will be 96 yrs. old Feb. 7th.
 Last Christmas, what a change.
 Sleep well mom.
Deb and I are here.
We you.
xoxo

I am going to post on my blog today if i can get there but some days its hard.

Your family will charish the good times with her and you have lovely photos to help you remember those wonderful times. I love the photo of you three girls :) you get your smile from you mom. all beauties.

Love you darlin

Oh Claudie...I had to take a moment out from this day and make sure I left a comment, before I leave for Calgary again tomorrow to tend to MY mom
This was a lovely post. I loved all the pictures. Your mom looked a lot like HER mom I think. She is soooo teeny.
I know how draining this is for you and your sister. We just really need to pull out "all the strength" we have at times like this.
I think one of the hardest things to endure, would be to see and watch them loose touch with reality. Forget things and people.
As of yet my parents are not in that situation, but Barry's dad had alzheimers and I am frightened to death that he should get it at some time in his life.
We just never know what lies ahead.
It is sad that your mom will not be going back to her apartment....needing long term care now.
I wish I could wrap my arms around you and give you a big hug, and we could both just cry on each others shoulders....cause that would feel good.
You have a good support system with Randy and your darling kids, and don't forget all of your sista's *1 through 6*, and all your other friends, who love you and are thinking of you.
We'll have to chat next week when I am home.
I love ya, and I am sorry your mom is in this situation right now.

Tears...she's such a tiny little woman and I hope she's kept as comfortable as possible. I also hope she knows you and Deb are by her side. Isn't it wonderful how our husbands stay so strong for us and our parents? Larry loved my parents more than his own and he was such a help with my mother and daddy. Bless her for the memories and the life she gave her children. Bless you for loving her and taking care of her when she cannot help herself. Just hold her hand and love her all you can. My heart is with you - my love is with you.

Claudie,
I'm so sorry you have to go through this with your precious mother. I've been through it with my own mother and mother-in-law, and it is so hard to watch our older parents become weak, lose touch with reality.

May God give you the grace you need for this journey.

Love,
Violet

Dear Claudie, I am heartbroken to read about what your mom and both you and your sister and your families are going through right now. I am so sorry I am just now reading your post as well. When I was at Beverly's my computer was with Bill at our son's home. I forgot to take it with me when he dropped me off at Beverly's. Sigh!

This post is sad and it has happy moments too. At a time like this your happy times need to keep you strong. I love the photos you shared and cried when I saw your poor little mom looking so ill. I pray things will improve but I fear they will not. You are doing all you can so do not forget that or fall into a guilt trip. Randy is such a blessing to take on the job of talking to the people in charge. He is perfect for the job.
Last, think about the many years when your mom was well and all was well. Try to let the memories sustain you and your family.

I love you dearly and wish I could do something to help.
Prayers for you and your mom.My sincere love surrounds you all at this sad time.

What a history of lives you have shown here. So many women who must have had amazing life stories by living well through thier 90's. I love your old pictures mixed in with the current. Such a reminder that we, our personalities always outlive our bodies don't we.
Aw Claudie. Tough stage of life. I love ya.
Hold dear to every good memory. You are so good at appreciating people in your life.

Oh Claudie, How I remember those days with my mom before she passed away almost three years ago. Mothers are so special, and you just want to make everything better for them, I know. I really liked the Christmas picture of you. You look so elegant. The picture of your mom and her sister was priceless. There's nothing more beautiful to me than a black and white photo. Thinking of you, and sending love your way.

Good evening ma belle...

Oh dearest, I pray that your presence with maman will comfort her and help her to ease into a more peaceful state. Yes, it would be so nice to be able to gather again with the GIRLFRIENDS! I am so sorry that you can't at the moment....May every day's sunshine warm you and remind you of the LOVE that covers us all in sickness and in health....we are here for you as well and now that WE HAVE SEEN some of the beautiful faces in Blogland in the FLESH, we are assured that it is not a dream, but a reality that love and friendship is OUT THERE....we hold you in our hearts always, Claudie...thank you for visiting my tribute to Koralee...

Bonne nuit ma chère, Anita

Beautiful Post! It looks like we are in the same stage of life. My sweet mother-in-law and father-in-law are 81 & 82. Healthy so far. they go to breakfast every morning and stop by after. I have noticed a decline this last year, and I know things can happen fast, like with your sweet mother. Oh Life, better enjoy every beautiful moment!
xoxo Thanks for the sweet comments!

Honey, My prayer will be that soon your Mom will be in no more pain, and no more loss of memory, but will be happily reunited with your Daddy in heaven. There is no sweeter thought than to know someone we love that is in pain and is suffering can depart from us and go to a place where it is peaceful, free from pain, and joining the love of their life that they've not seen in decades. That's my prayer... I prayed it for my own Daddy when he lay suffering and I held his hand the day he took his last breath and joined my brother in heaven. It was so hard to let him go, as it will be for you with your Mom. But at the same time, your heart will find peace in knowing her soul is at rest.

I love you friend...I hope we can chat this weekend or sooner if you're up to it! Love you forever friend! ~CC
