Sad days here at the cottage

Just letting you know that my 92 yr. old mom fell and broke her hip on Wed.
They operated Thurs. night, and now she's very very confused and has no idea where she's at or what happened.
She will have to be rehabilitated for weeks upon weeks, but for now she's still in the hospital.
She will have to be placed in long term care after all of this.
So that's what's been happening around here lately.
Just thought I would let you all know.

Oh Claudie Sweetie...
I am so sorry to hear about your sweet Momma. Now Claudie my Momma works in the hospital, in ICU, and she said, sometimes when we get older, and we have to go through surgery it is not uncommon to come out a little confused, so I will be praying and praying for her memory to come right on back and the confusion to go away. Her little system may still be reacting to the anesthesia. I will be thinking positive sweet friend. Prayers for quick healing of the hip as well.

Just know that you are all in my prayers, and I will be praying for nothing but the best. Hugs, hugs and more hugs sweetie. All my love, Sherry

Oh Claudie! I am so sorry to hear that! My mom has had both hips replaced. She is walking really well now but it was a long process. I hope your mother has a quick recovery. The confusion is normal for an elderly person after surgery. She should come round soon.

Those pictures of you and your mom are so beautiful.
I am sure this is a really difficult time for her and all your family.
My mom and dad walk up and down quite steep, wood stairs to their bedroom at their house. My sister and I are in fear of them falling. They can not be convinced to move to the bedroom downstairs. (stubborn)
I'll be thinking of you Claudie, and certainly hope things start to improve.
much love

Bless her heart! I know this must be a most difficult time for you and for her especially. Anesthesia and pain meds do have that effect on the elderly. Be strong for her and be patient with her. Be thankful for all the good years - our moms are so precious to us.

I love you and will see you SOON!!!!

Claudie, I just saw your comment on Jeanne's blog. I'm so sorry about your Mom. It's such a terrible thing that she has to go through all of this. My prayers are with you and your family. I know how hard it is to see her in this way....I sure recall when my mom had her stroke. It was a bad, bad situation for all of us. Mercifully, the Lord took her a few days later. I know she did not want to live the way she was..and I know she was wanting to go to heaven to be with my dad and sister.

I am pulling a Claudie and don't even look at what time it is! I saw your header that said "sad days at the cottage" and then I saw your sidebar that said "sing along with me"........
That's what we will do. Remember singing in the car. That made us laugh. And you getting all mad at the slow drivers. That made us laugh too.
I love ya. Can't wait to see you. We are so overdue.

Oh - I accidentally ate peanut oil in some salad from the deli and had a big allergic reaction. I have had a stupid cyclops eye that I have been treating with benedryl and so spent the whole day groggy and sleeping on the couch. Ruined my eyelashes of course which is funny but not really. Guess that's why I am still up. I will have to be more careful. So stupid of me.

Anyways, nothing like your worries about your mom.
Sending you thoughts of girlfriend time which we will be having very soon.

Ciao baby.

Claudie, I haven't been blogging, but I happened to check in this morning and saw your note. I'm so sorry this has happened to your mother, and I pray right now, this instant, that the nightmares will stop in Jesus name. I also pray that she will recuperate and feel much better soon. My heart goes out to you.

Mr. Magpie goes in a couple of weeks for his procedure. We are taking it a day at a time. Lots going on here, too. Prayer and love are seeing us through it all.

XO,

Sheila

OUI honee, I got my haircut - I think I'm gonna look like the dark version of Claudette! We'll be dark & silver twins - just one more thing we share now. lol I didn't know how the cut would come out - I had one years ago, Aline Bob, but this gal did it totally different and not so angular...so when I put it behind my ears the cut looks a lot like YOU! :) MISSing you. I had to go to Dr yesterday and am on Prednizone for 12 days to get rid of this poison I brought home from Moms. :( It's been terrible - haven't worn real shoes in a week! No kidding! Love you! This will be the FIRST weekend I've had home for four weeks. HOW IS YOUR MOMMA? Praying better...I've been praying for her. xoxoxo to the Moon & Back!
