To Charleston that is.
Jeanne and I drove over 5 hrs. to check it out.
We took a horse and carriage ride with this fella.
MEET JAKE
Sweet sweet boy.
Jeanne from Backyard Neighbour getting up onto the carriage.
Go Jeanne.
Check out these "smokin'" NITROTINIS.
WOW, very cool and yummy.
We decided to eat at Magnolias.
What a great Southern Dining experience.
I tried things that were truly Southern.
We also had fried green tomatoes on a bed of sweet grits.
OMG. Sooo good, and I hate grits.
I ALWAYS ask the waiter/waitress what their favourite dish is...
usually means you'll like it if they LOVE it.
We topped it off with
SOUTHERN PECAN PIE.
WOW AGAIN. Shared it and devoured it.
Forgot to take a pic.
I'm always AMAZED with all the different flowers in the SOUTH.
This was our room. It was very cozy, and pretty.
The staff were wonderful, but some of the guests were buggy.
Let's just leave it at that for now...
Jeanne and I were not really impressed with Charleston. Sorry girls.
There wasn't much to do.
The shops were nothing to write home about, but this one was cute.
The sky was beautiful.
The trees weren't as pretty as Savannah,
but still majestic.
We did find a fountain to play in. I was getting soaking wet while Jeanne took this one.
It was COLD water!!
I would much rather visit SAVANNAH again.
Charleston, you most likely
will never see me again : (
But, the food was great and so were your NITROTINIS.
I really really wanted to see the Ocean.
So we drove to Folly Beach and put our feet in
the water.
It was very pretty, and the highlight of
our trip.
I know I spelled boardwalk wrong oops.
My sweet friend Jeanne.
I know I keep writing N.C.
It was S.C.
We could have walked for miles, but we knew we
had to get going. We had a long ride back to Franklin, N.C. Jeanne had to get up at 6:00 am to
get to her Garden Club festivities.
Claudie got to stay in bed ; )
So sit back and put your feet up 'till I come
back with the rest of my trip SOUTH.
